Aberdeen

A city built of granite
The Kirk of St Nicholas

Half my father’s family came from Scotland. Mostly mariners from Caithness, the Highland port city of Aberdeen was also an abode for a generation or two.

An unremembered burial.
Granite so cold and hard it’s actually radioactive.

Past unwanted.
Past demolished.

What a difference a single day can make.

Still so cold
The answers to the questions I had were not to be found here

But it no longer matters.

The loss is yours, not mine.
